By: C. Kent, aka (Superman) It looked like fog as I stared out of my front window this morning. It was supposed to be overcast but not like it was when I got up. Still I decided to forgo arm and leg warmers to count on the weather to warm up. I headed to Burger King for coffee and to watch the group assemble. I got to the parking lot first just before Dragon Slayer. Digger arrived as I was getting coffee. Quicksilver pulled up with a flat tire so we started to fix that just as Anaconda drove up also with a flat tire. Huntress pulled up with a low tire but at least it wasn’t flat. ME-109 rode up while we were repairing flats followed by Gambler, Bulldozer and Minotaur. We finished the tire changing just after 9am and headed south on Gilmore only to catch the light at Florida. Once the light changed we made our way to Acacia and over to Kirby. Digger was moving along quite well this morning and we right near the front on Kirby all the way to Cypress.

We turned west on Cypress and headed through the housing tract in a pretty tight group. Dogger and I were in front with Dragon slayer and Minotaur next followed by ME-109 and Gambler. The Bling Team of Quicksilver, Huntress and Anaconda were following at the back and everyone was just talking and relaxing as we got to Johnston and turned to Sanderson only to once again catch the light. We finally made the turn south and headed for Stetson to get the ride on the way.

As we headed for Mustang Digger and ME-109 were on the front setting the pace. Minotaur pulled in behind them and I followed them all to Dominigoni as we turned west. I was surprised again when Digger took off and pulled away from us as we started up the first little rise west of Sanderson. Minotaur and ME-109 took off after Digger as the rest of us cruised along. We caught Digger by Warren but Minotaur and ME-109 were way out front and the Bling team was in cruise mode in the back. Gambler and Bulldozer got up front and pulled Dragon Slayer and me towards Winchester. ME-109 pulled up and waited for us as Minotaur continued on. We caught Minotaur just past Winchester and formed a single pace line with Gambler in the lead. One Gambler pulled off I dropped back and waited to see where the B group was. We regrouped at the saddle and digger came in just in front of the Bling team.

Digger started out first heading for Menifee and the rest of us followed about a minute later. Minotaur led us to Menifee and to the light. We turned south towards Scott with Gambler, Bulldozer and Minotaur in the front followed by Dragon Slayer, ME-109 and me. Quicksilver took over leading the Bling team as we headed for Revival. We were in a tight pack as we rolled by Holland and started the climb. ME-109 finally pulled out and picked up the climb and I followed him followed by Gambler. WE rolled by the stop sign and picked up digger as we headed for Garbani. Gambler took Dragon Slayer, Bulldozer, ME-109 and Minotaur. I had Digger, Huntress, Anaconda and Quicksilver with me. We noticed Minotaur had missed a light and fell off of the A group at Haun but I was the only one that got through the light after him. I chased him half way up Scott to Murrieta before I caught him and waited till it kicked up a bit before passing him and pulling him to the second kick where he fell back. I got to Murrieta and waited for everyone with Minotaur. Once the Bling Team pulled up they continued on and I sent Minotaur with them as I waited for Digger. When Digger rounded the corner I gave chase to the Bling Team and was about 100 yards behind them as we turned onto Holland. I caught them before they made the top of the climb and the light but noticed Minotaur had left them so I pulled them through the houses towards Railroad Canyon.

We waited for Digger who was only a few moments behind us before dropping down the hill and heading for Murrieta and home. We dropped down the hill and up the next without losing anyone and then down the hill before Goetz at a pretty good clip. The Bling Team and I managed to gap digger a bit but he caught us at Murrieta and stayed with us to the freeway and past Antelope.

I managed to pull the group to Menifee and turned north towards Stetson. By this point of the ride I was beginning to warm up and so I decided to try and big gear spin up the grade on the last part of Menifee before Simpson. Push as hard as I could I couldn’t shake Quicksilver and I have the feeling that if I would have backed down a bit she would have passed me. She followed me onto Simpson with a big smile on her face and I believe she knew she was getting stronger every ride. We then headed east to Leon and then over to the Dump road before making our way to Winchester and up to Stowe. We only stopped at Winchester farms long enough to get everyone together before heading towards California and down to Stetson. We headed to Warren and I took the lead again and pulled us to Cawston to Industrial and towards Sanderson.

We got to Sanderson and headed to Lowes before moving onto Acacia and heading back first to Kirby and then to Gilmore. We cruised up to the parking lot to find Dragon Slayer loading his truck and waiting for Minotaur to come out of Burger King. We talked for a few minutes before I headed for home and lunch. It started out rather cool but ended as a perfect day for a ride.
