What could be nicer than an easy ride on Saturday morning and to have coffee or tea sitting outside in the warm sun? Nothing comes to my mind so that is exactly what a few of us planned to do on the Monthly Coffee Shop ride.

People started showing up about 7:45 am and by 8:00 we had a small group of about 10 riders. Once we got started Richard and his navigator fell in behind me as we rode north on Lyon. He safely navigated the left on Devonshire and another right turn onto Kirby. It seems like the navigator knew what he was doing.


We had an easy ride down Kirby and slowly made our way to Esplanade where we turned east. Brian and I were in front making sure everyone stayed on course and that no one was left behind or needed help with any problems we might run into. Thank goodness we were flat free all the way to Hewitt. It was good to know that Dylan and Andrew were riding in back to make sure no one missed a turn. We also had Alex and Joe riding in the middle of the group.

We made it safely down Hewitt and turned onto Park to ride a loop passed Zebras and farm animals. Yes I said Zebras. Once we turned off of park and onto Devonshire it was all downhill to Santa Fe then latham and finally to the old Hemet Train Station. We were joined by some of the racers as we had coffee and conversation. It almost reminded me of a scene in Italy looking at everyone sitting out on the patio having a relaxing good time.
It was a great day and one that was perfect for families and kids.
